I Want to Be an iPad Tester – Why You Would Too

Collin J. Johnson asked:

If anything could beat Brangelina in a popularity contest, it would have to be the new Apple iPad. It has been the talk of the world before, during, and now, after its launch in January 2010. It seemed like everyone knows all about the iPad’s features, but not all know they can get a free iPad by becoming an iPad tester.

Yes people! Test an iPad and you get one free of charge. You must be thinking, there must be a catch here somewhere. No company will give free iPads away. Not even Apple will throw away hundreds of iPads to regular consumers who do a trial usage of their product. Why should they when there are analysts and professional services for testing products?

First, the catch may perhaps be the work you have to put in – give feedback. Apple and other companies doing consumer testing use feedback from testers to improve their products. Also, there are scams out there that could cost you money if you’re not careful. But we’ll get to that in a while…

Second, companies do give out freebies. How can they afford you might ask? Well, there are third party sponsors or advertisers that cover the costs for freebies. Using testers is actually an affordable way to do product developments compared to other high-end methods and marketing tools. Believe me, companies like Apple have enough budget for free products.

Next, Apple can afford and will probably (if they haven’t yet) give hundreds of free iPads to regular consumers because these same people are their preferred iPad testers. Thus, you and I have the chance to test the iPad and in a very simple process. Apple just needs the consumers’ opinions.

Why the free iPad? As a thank you gesture for participating. You get to keep the iPad for $0.00. Just give your opinion and you get an iPad. You’re happy, Apple is happy. Companies want to hear what actual consumers think of their goods.

Now about the scam – there are sites asking for upfront payment. This is a warning sign that it’s fraud! As a tester, you do not have to pay for anything. Not even a dollar.

Go on, be one of the early birds and get an iPad now before the rest of the mortals. Be a lucky person and get an iPad for free!
