Panah C Rad asked:

Amazon is the biggest book retailer in the world. No wonder Jeff Bezos decided to take a chance on the ebook market and enter in this market with Kindle 1.0 and now Kindle 2.0. Kindle 1.0 was a revolutionary device. Ebook readers have been around for a while but none came with the set of features that you get with Amazon Kindle 1G. You not only got a set of innovative features but also constant connectivity to the Internet without any monthly fees. As great as the first Kindle was, the only way for Amazon to go was up. The Amazon team got back to work and looked at the main issues with Kindle 1.0 (design, battery, connection speed, and software) and came up with Kindle 2.0.

Kindle 2.0 is a major improvement on Kindle 1.0. Many design issues have been addresses and Amazon has added a new set of features for those who are heavy book consumers. Here is how Kindle 2.0 stacks up against Kindle 1.0:
Screen: both devices have the same screen size and the same resolution. Kindle 2.0 may look more attractive but the screen size hasn’t changed. Grey Level: the E-ink technology used on the new device is much better than its predecessor. The grey level has been increased to 16. Weight: Kindle 2G is slightly lighter than its predecessor, though the difference is very negligible. Thickness: The new Kindle is thinner than its predecessor by two folds. It’s even thinner than iPhone 3G. Battery: the battery lasts for twice as long on the new reader in comparison to the old one. New features: Amazon has added a new controller and text-to-speech technology to their new reader in order to make Kindle 2.0 more user friendly. The 3G wireless technology makes connections faster as well.

The new Amazon reader is not for everyone. While the device has been improved in many areas, it still costs $359. Many people have already upgraded to the new Kindle, but you can still read books and get the best Amazon has to offer with your old reader. But, if your old reader is broken or you are looking for an overall better reading experience, you should consider buying the new reader.

Jim Lucas asked:

A great innovation in the world of reading has been materialized through the effort of Amazon. Readers now experience the shift from the paper-made books at the online or offline bookstores to the electronically controlled Kindle Electronic Book Reader. With this latest eBook reader, customers need not wait in line. Kindle is a thoughtful way of protecting the environment by lessening the cutting of trees that are used to make papers.

The most unique characteristic regarding this new device is its wireless functionality. It has what is called Whispernet, which is mainly responsible to having an Internet connection in order to possibly download any books on the Kindle eBook reader itself. Anyone can actually shop, order and buy content of the book by simply using Whispernet. You don’t even need a hotspot area for the connection or a PC because everything can be accomplished mobile with Kindle.

The traditional ways of reading through books, newspapers, magazines and others have already been enhanced into something which loads up so much content in just one portable eBook reader. The interesting thing about this product is that customers can download the first few pages of the books for sample reading prior to finalizing the deal. Aside from that, they also offer a free trial subscription for newspapers. Where to buy Kindle 2 is not a problem because it is always available at Amazon’s online shopping site.

If you think it’s going to cause some eye problems, then you are definitely wrong because it is carefully designed to be crisp and natural to read like the usual paper book. Some of the amazing features that are incorporated with Kindle include the smart automatic cross-device bookmarking and annotation, fast page turn, adjustable font size, text-to-speech and the instant on-screen dictionary. These are just some of the characteristics of this new eBook reader product.

The processing time upon doing the download is very quick; you can absolutely get the books you want in just a matter of few minutes. Additionally, Amazon did the upgrade on the processor of the product so that the screen will refresh around 20% quicker between page turns. Furthermore, it has the ability to load up to 1,500 books or the different classified newspaper and blog subscriptions, including the JPEG images.

With this latest Amazon Kindle, individuals can surely save a lot of money and time instead of buying expensive prices of books at the store. If you are an avid reader and you stay from one place to another for some reason, then it would be advisable to purchase an eBook reader to make a different reading experience. The texts are readable even against the bright sunlight, thus, your eyes are always well protected. This is definitely a dream-come-true device for everyone who desires a totally one of a kind reading experience.
